A growth mindset approach to learning

Having a growth mindset is the key to success. “In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work — brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.”

5 tips of Amal Totkay:

1. Self talk:

Self talk is our inner voice or internal monologue it is something we do naturally throughout the day. Rhonda Byrne said in her book “The Secret” that “everything starts with your thinking, your future circumstances will be determined by your present thoughts”. Our thinking is the starting point of everything we say and do, if we want to change anything in our life we need to start by changing our thinking since that’s where it all begins. Just think about the things in positive way, don’t think that you can’t do it, and just think that you can do it.

2. Get out of your comfort zone:

To develop growing mindset it is important to get out of our comfort zone. Once we get out of it we learn how to do sacrifice to reach our goals and it let us discover our passion. Try to face the challenging situations that may be out of our comfort zone but will boost up our skills.

3. Create new habits:

Creating new habit will help us in learning new things and we will be able to adapt changes quickly.

4. Ask people help:

As human beings we are not good at everything, there are some things we are good at, and some things at which we are extremely bad. So in such circumstances we need help from others, we should ask the people who are pro in that particular area or who have the right skills, knowledge and resources in that way we will be able to learn new things and make progress.

Asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak, it only means you’re wise

5. Fake it till you make it:

If we want to achieve something act as if we already have it. That will help us to fix that thing in our mind.

From these tips I have learnt that we should examine ourselves and try to adopt new habits.

My favorite tip is creating new habits, by creating new habits we adapt changes and this thing make us confident.

Already implemented tips:

I have already implemented tip 2 in my life. I am such a person who never liked to get out of her comfort zone and I think this is my weakness so I have decided to overcome it and I’m trying to confront the situations that are out of my comfort zone.

Developing growth mindset from today:

From today, we need to think of the challenges in a positive way and try to confront them with all the efforts.
